How to Qualify
Max participation is 20 players/teams, which allows for four groups of five. This guarantees all players/teams at least four matches.
Matches are one, ten (10) minute game.
Player/team with the most goals at the end of the ten minutes wins. Tie games when the time runs out become sudden death overtime, whoever scores that last ball wins the match.
Top two players/teams in each group will qualify for the playoff bracket. Players/teams will be ranked based on Wins, then Goals For, then Goals Against. In the rare case of a tie, the two players/teams will play one game to 5 to determine who qualifies.
Playoff Format
A single elimination bracket will be used for the playoffs. This means that if you lose one match, you are knocked out of the event.
Matches (except for the finals) are 2/3 ten (10) minute games. The score is not cumulative, meaning each game starts at 0-0.
Player/team with the most goals at the end of the ten minutes wins the game. If the game is tied when the time runs out, then sudden death overtime begins, and whoever scores that last ball wins the game.
Finals matches are 3/5 ten (10) minute games. The score is not cumulative, meaning each game starts at 0-0.
Game Format
All games will be ten minutes long, instead of the usual first to five goals. This way we can post a tournament schedule, that tells players where and when they are playing, well in advance of their match. The schedule lets players plan their meals, drinks, and poops with ease 😉
Timers will be on each table, and the players are responsible for starting and stopping the time.
Time begins at the first possession of the game and can only be stopped under two instances:
A) A player/team calls a timeout
B) A conflict arises on the table that requires discussion amongst players, or consultation with a referee
The ball needs to be put back into play within 10 seconds of each goal being scored, or if the play stops for any other reason.
The player/team with the most goals when the time runs out, wins that game.
Each game ends when the time runs out, or a player/team builds a ten (10) point lead, which is considered a “knockout”.
Should there be a tie when the time runs out, sudden death overtime begins immediately, and whoever scores the final ball wins the game.
After each game, write the score down on the score sheet.
After the match, bring the score sheet to results table for an admin to input the results and call the next match.
Match Format
All matches will consist of either one game, a 2/3 series of games, or a 3/5 series of games, depending on the event, and how far along in the event. The round robin will be one game, the playoffs will be 2/3 games, except for the finals which will be 3/5 games.
