GTA Foosball LEAGUE

Game Types

Designed to Improve Your Skills

The following games were specifically designed to help you learn certain aspects to foosball that will help you build a more well rounded skill set and strategy.  These games help you learn to defend, shoot, pass, manage time, and control the ball.

Doubles

Learn teamwork

In this traditional foosball game, two players work together by controlling the forward and goalie rods.  The forward is responsible for passing and shooting from the three rod.  The goalie is responsible for making saves, and passing to the forward.  Each game goes to eight (8) goals, and teammates can switch positions between goals, or on a timeout.

ITSF official rules apply to all doubles games.

Singles

Learn teamwork

In this traditional foosball game, players go head to head controlling all four rods.  Each game goes to eight (8) goals.

Normal ITSF official rules apply to all doubles games.

Forward Shootout

Learn to Shoot

Just like a hockey or soccer shootout, players take turns shooting on goal and defending in a series of shots to determine a winner.

Serve the ball from the three bar, and shoot against your opponent within 15 seconds of asking it they are ready.

The ball is served following the Ready Rule.  Once the play is live, it continues until the goalie gains possession, a goal is scored, or it leaves the goalie zone.

Players switch between being the goalie and shooter until someone wins the game by scoring eight (8) goals.

Goalie Wars

LEarn to Defend

Use rod locks to hold the middle four rods up.  Each player uses only the rods in the goalie position to shoot at each other.

Serve the ball from the goalie position, and shoot at your opponent within 15 seconds of asking if they are ready.

The ball is live after the serve, until a goal is scored or there is a stoppage of play due to the ball going off the table, or getting stuck in the middle of the table.

If the ball gets stuck in the middle, it goes to the player who did not have the last chance to get the ball.  For example: (i) You have the ball and drop it and it slowly rolls out of your possession… so sad, it goes to your opponent; (ii) the ball comes flying into your zone, but you miss it, and it rolls back into the middle of the table… too bad, goes to your opponent.

Players keep shooting at each other until someone wins by scoring eight (8) goals.

Five-Bar Wars

Learn to Pass

Players stand in the forward position, and take turns trying to make a pass from the five-bar to their three-bar.

Serve the ball from the five-bar and earn a goal by successfully passing the ball to your three-bar.  You have 10 seconds to make a pass attempt each time you get possession.

The ball is live after the serve, until a pass is made, or the ball enters either goalie zone.  Even if an attempted pass fails, the ball is still live, just like a real game.

If the ball gets stuck between the rods, then the play stops and the last player to serve the ball, serves it again from their five-bar.

If the ball enters either goalie zone, then the play is dead, and the player who served the ball last, gives up possession to the other player, who serves the ball from their five-bar.

The player to catch the ball on their three-bar successfully 8 times, wins the game.
