Winter 2020

COVID-19 UPDATE:  LEAGUE  IS POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

The Winter 2020 Regular Season is six matches, starting January 27th, and ending March 9th.

Playoff were supposed to be the final three weeks from March 16th to 30th…. However, due to the global pandemic known as COVID-19, we unfortunately were forced to postpone the season until further notice.  Staying safe and practicing social distancing is of utmost importance at this time.  We will not be promoting any gatherings until the restrictions have been lifted.

There have been rumours that the final three weeks will be played in a one day tournament style event… but we will see how everything plays out and let you know as soon as we know.  Get excited though, because league points are worth double during the three playoff weeks.  You won’t want to miss your chance to earn the most league points at the end of the nine week season, and become a League Champion!

Your team will play each other team three times over the course of the nine week season.  The following table shows each week’s matchup.

GamePlay

League Games are designed to teach you to defend, pass, and shoot.  All games go to eight goals.  All games will follow the ITSF Official Rules, unless otherwise posted in the League Rules.

Learn to Shoot

Forward Shootout

Just like a hockey or soccer shootout, players take turns shooting on goal and defending in a series of shots to determine a winner.

LEarn to Defend

Goalie Wars

Use rod locks to hold the middle four rods up.  Each player uses only the rods in the goalie position to shoot at each other.

Learn to Pass

Five-Bar Wars

Players stand in the forward position, and take turns trying to make a pass from the five-bar to their three-bar.

LEarn to Fight

Singles

Play head to head in a traditional singles match, following the ITSF Rules.  You’ve learned to shoot, defend, and pass, so it’s time to put it all together in this race to eight goals.

LEarn teamwork

Doubles

Play in teams of two that are pre-determined based on the Scorecard.  Each player will get to play two out of the three doubles games.  These are great opportunities to learn from top players, and teach newer players, which helps everyone improve.
